Community Tasting Notes 10

December 29, 2018 - Have tried several vintages of this wine and keep thinking I’m going to hit on one I really like. But, not happened. This was supposed to be a stellar year in Europe, but this wine taste the same year in year out. There is something to be said about consistency.

This to me is nothing more than a table wine, but at $18+ a bottle, that isn’t table wine price. This wine comes off thin, with no depth and so so fruit. Having it with food doesn’t seem to make any difference. Not a wine I plan on keeping in my cellar.

September 8, 2018 - Small tasting glass @ VINEUM during service, so a brief note. Classic Sangiovese nose, nice grip. Good acidity and rustig tannins. Good!

July 3, 2018 - Light red color, nose of cherries, earth , on the palate fruity, cherries, nice acidity

February 12, 2018 - WS gave this a 91, and I unfortunately don’t agree. The earthiness on the nose had a funkiness that was offputting to me. Palate had pure cherry with good density, so that was all good. Decent finish too.

    Drank better when chilled.

October 13, 2017 - [Chianti vs. Italy blind 4/6] stinky on the nose - rubbery, yoghurty - but just fine on the palate, with dominant dark, bitter soiliness and hints of perhaps clay? [post-reveal: lot of the group hadn't guessed Chianti. I don't much like the qpr here, either]
