October 17, 2023 - Vega Sicilia Unico Dinner with Pablo Alvarez (Asador Bastian - Chicago IL): Small glass. Very big and powerful, this is still on the bitter side for my preference, but lots to enjoy here.

September 8, 2023 - The Arbour with Your Highness: LC15. Popped it for Joe and Bryan who hadn't had it, but heard too many stories. Absolutely gorgeous nose, but it took some time for the palate to get going (similar to my experience a year ago). Always love how vinous and dense it is on the palate. It had more zesty citrus than prior bottles, but no complaints here.

June 9, 2023 - A vintage that was less vinous and more champagne-like, opposite to what I prefer. (LC19 1499/3180)

June 7, 2023 - Sept 2019 disgorgement. More extra brut than I prefer, but there is so much to enjoy here. Rich red fruits with very good density and balance, even if slightly austere on the long finish.

April 7, 2023 - A few days in Napa with fellow CT'r Cristal2000: Well I guess if the best Rose I’ve ever had has to be now, it might as well be from Jerome Prevost. The Fac-Simile LC18 is a stunner and is one of my favorite Roses I’ve had in recent memory. Fresh squeezed orange rind, grapefruit juice, dried ginger, lemon pulp, and chalk notes all intermingle to create a flawlessly balanced but lively medley of fruit and stone flavors, all wrapped up in the perfect, most elegant bead of effervescence. The orange rid and fresh grapefruit juice notes sing all the way through the dreamily delineated finish.

These Champagne have jumped in price over the last few years, but there’s no denying their qualitative excellence. Prevost, Selosse, Cedric Bouchard, and a handful of others remain my top bubblies for 2023. Of course, they were even more attractive when they were half the price less than a few years ago. Stupid inflation…

February 1, 2023 - DG not visible on bottle, which is a huge surprise and disappointment for a high end grower Champagne, what is Jerome Prevost thinking here…? Anyway. This is a very good Rosé, complex, precise, aromatic, sappy, appropriately dry on the finish. However, at 500$+ this has also become a candidate of the most overpriced Rosé in the market due to the Prevost global hype…

January 13, 2023 - Beautiful bright almost pink coral reef color. Super fresh and laser like on the palate. Grapefruit and strawberry along with a stony minerality and rose petals. Just delicious to drink. Keep the hits coming Monsieur Prevost. Highky recommneded if you can get it. Cheers.

November 30, 2022 - Piemonte: Back to the truffling!; 11/24/2022-12/3/2022 (Wineries and various restaurants): Didn’t really expect to get to try this wine ever much less twice in two days but Enoclub was very kind to let us bring some wine in and as a result we wanted to make sure to order some bottles as well. And this is just delicious so seemed to make sense to have another one if available. Lots of red fruits and very bright and with maybe a slightly floral style or something that pulls the fruit back from being too much. Drinks well.
