August 26, 2020 - Glad this is my last btl from this vintage. This Lignier cuvee is usually a no brainer overachiever but clearly they couldn't over come the vintage. Distinctly lean and tannic. This is my 2nd btl since early 2016 and it has not improved. Drink up.

December 12, 2017 - This definitely can redeem itself, but do not force it now. Overtly acidic, not having evolved in the past year, and showing only a hint of warmth or fruit definition after 60 minutes. A good bit of slate, high red fruit acid, tart cherry, and a hint of elegance hiding underneath. Giving the quality reputation its due, with the late hints of some strawberry, red currant and razor sharp acids, hold for three more years and don’t invite your best friend.

April 1, 2016 - Solid and tasty Bourgogne, not a great value, but not bad. The nose has red berry, hints of dusty library, violet, and a bit of smoky mineralogy. The palate is good for the level, but certainly does not have great mid-palate concentration or a great finish. It is tasty and drinks well for the level and shows the vintage well. Enjoyable.

February 18, 2016 - The acid was a bit jarring with my first sip and obviously is a bit ahead of the fruit. At the same time the concentration is there. Sort of perplexing and different from any previous vintage I've had since buying these with 2009. I do think 2013 is a vintage of bolder acidity. That said, this wine drank pretty well all in all and I won't shy away from buying more. I think they call this "vintage transparency". Another year or three may reconcile everything better but its tasty now too. PS, I like Sotto325's TN from last month for more descriptors.

January 2, 2016 - An interesting melange of occasional sophisticated elements playing on the palate against an overriding sense of high tone bright red acidity and occasional moments of warmth. The sense of crisp red currant, bright cherry, stems, and a hint of cranberry made for more of an intellectually interesting rather than mellifluous Bourgogne Rouge. Not nearly as enjoyable as many 2012 versions but interesting because the Lignier delineation and breeding pop up from time to time. The acid receded a bit after 15 minutes but then returned, so decanting is not the solution.

August 20, 2015 - Nose: Raspberry, Oak, Marzipan and Florals. Palate: Enters with bright red fruit, crunchy stem notes, a tiny bit of fat and some oak notes. Finish: Very very strong acidity and bright red cran/strawberry notes.
