September 10, 2021 - Acker Auction BYO (Craft NYC): Wow, nose that explodes with Vosne spice, black tea and black cherry. Palate is very rich and wide open for business. Loaded with spice. Great now, but should get even better with another 5-10 years.

August 23, 2021 - One of 6 RSVs in this tasting. This and the 2001 Sylvain Cathiard were the stars tonight and out classed the 1996 Hudelot-Noellat and 1996 Robert Arnoux, 1999 Robert Arnoux and the 2002 Louis Latour Les Quatre Journaux. Intense core of focused sappy red fruits. Zippy acidity with a nice tannic spine.

March 4, 2021 - Cherry, red fruit, dark fruit, spice, and wilted flowers on the nose. Deep and powerful palate with good density and substance. Really loves Robert Arnoux’s 01. It gives the 01 DRC RSV a good run for the money.

June 20, 2019 - Heidi's Redux: Some Serious Wines (P.S. Steak, Mpls): Medium red color. Slow-O'd some. Drank a glass over 2 hours. Same bottle as Chablis28. Reductive nose, very, very slow to blow off and open up. A little funky, orange peel, earthy with a good spice profile, cherry. The palate is sultry, young and energetic, earthy, deep red fruits, orange peel, great spice and still firmish tannins. The palate was more ready at the start.

June 20, 2019 - Nose was reticent for early part of the evening. Opened an hour prior to leaving for dinner at P.S. Steaks in Minneapolis. Removed cork again upon arrival. Didn't start drinking in earnest for an hour. Eventually, a spicy / floral nose with a light touch of forest floor. The placid, elegant palate emanates layers of youthful, slightly rich; dark cherry, raspberry, mineral, light sous bois and Asian spice. The overall impression is that this is just entering its prime drinking and in hindsight I should have held on to this for at least another 3-5yrs. Classy complex grand cru Burgundy right now but not showing the tertiary flavors and aromas you'd expect from an 18yr old '01, yet. 93+ Lots of upside but my last btl. Brad E's seven yr younger '08 Emanuel Rouget Cros Parantoux 08' open along side drank more like a 25yr old Burg and what I hoped mine would. Explain that one?

September 15, 2018 - 2001 Red Burgundy at Chez Hugo (Chez Hugo, Baltimore): A deep and almost meaty and simultaneously floral expression of pinot at first. Beautiful serious nose with some Vosne spice. On the palate rich and powerful but incredibly graceful. Sap and dense yet weightless texture, with great clarity and focus. The wood is still evident but beautifully integrated. An effortlessly powerful, regal seeming wine. There is just an ease and effortlessness to its power. Drinking at youthful peak with plenty of time in hand.

September 15, 2018 - 2001 Red Burgundy Retrospective (Chez Hugo - Baltimore): Another absolutely gorgeous nose displaying pure bright red fruit, raspberry, cherry, cranberry juice, a hint of sous bois, subtle Vosne spice, rose, caramel and crushed rock. Exceptionally pure and refined, very finely layered bright red fruit, clean, precise and detailed, perfect amount of acidity and mineral, very fine tannins and an incredibly long bright sweet red fruit driven finish with limestone and Vosne spice at the end. Drinking beautifully in a very youthful way. This can easily improve for another decade.

May 25, 2018 - Great experience. even in a difficult harvest for many producers, the saint vivant of the arnoux lachaux is absolutely impeccable. Delicious, deep, long. Reveals a beautiful combination of fruit, acidity and aromas of animals and mushrooms.
The wine is perfectly ready to drink now.

March 1, 2018 - Zachys La Paulée "Warm-up" Dinner (Sessions at the Presidio - San Francisco CA): In multi-flight 53/66/90/91/93/95/01 vertical. Lots of fresh red fruit with plenty of spice. Still a little oaky and firm, but very good now, with even greater potential.

March 1, 2018 - Pre La Paulée Zachy's BYO Dinner (Sessions at The Presidio - SF, CA): Tasted very late in the evening and following 6 other older vintages Arnoux RSV. This is quite young and primary today. While delicious with all the round red and black cherry, spice and smoke accents - this will get better. Upside from here.
