December 27, 2021 - My penultimate bottle from the original case showed better than expected. I say that as it is only days from its 22nd birthday. Still fresh and vibrant, its kirsch, strawberry, and wild cherry persona are there, along with olives, herbs, spice, and as the wine remained in the glass, a touch of VA became apparent. Soft, silky, and loaded with olives and garrigue, along with more of those herbal, spiced cherries in the finish, this is still quitegood, though it has faded just a but from its peak. If you have a bottle, pop a cork. There is no reason to wait or decant.

July 7, 2021 - CDP Night (Song Ling Building): Very, very good indeed. And while young, this was drinking pleasantly now. The nose was classic CDP, with notes of garrigue and dried herb, lavender and violets, damp soil, than black cherries, dark berries and plums - lovely stuff. Provence in a glass I thought. The palate was a tad behind maybe, coming across a touch primary almost, with bursts of sweet cherries and berries pierced with notes of powdered spice, garrigue and dried flowers. Still a bit tight and awkward at points maybe, with fine tannins and shades of bright acidity sticking out, but otherwise, this was truly delicious stuff. Deep, powerful, effortless. Grest finish too, with a little rasp of powdery tannins leading into lovely savoury finish, with earth and meat seasoned with a little dash of spice and mineral just unfolding across the back palate. Wow. I really liked this. Quite the complete wine, if just a bit of an awkward place in its aging curve - this will be beautiful in another 5-6 years’.

September 25, 2018 - This is probably at its peak today. Incredibly silky, elegant and refined, the wine offers fabulous complexity, concentration and purity. It's hard to find, but if mature, old vine Grenache is your thing, find a bottle and pop it!

September 8, 2017 - Single bottle purchases of CDPs are now for us on the same level of old Italian wines. Very risky and many poor results even on great wines like this one. Cork we have learnt to live with the risk but oxidised/dead wines post bad cellaring and transport we haven't..
