November 4, 2023 - 25th Annual Lyon 10 Year Retrospective (Lyon Down Inn): SO smooth for a big wine! Blackberry, cassis, plum, licorice, and cocoa sitting on a big oak barrel. I guessed Leonetti. 95 on day 2, wow!

1/18/2019 rated 96 points: Lyon and Woodward Frenzy (Woodyville): On a previous trip to the Carriage house, this was a bonus pour and I was so impressed I asked for 2 (not knowing the $ details!). The guy comes back with a 3 pack in OWC, "you gotta have this!" Then Joe elbows me in the ribs and says, "check the price!" Whoa! Back to one bottle... Now this wine 'tis the coup de grace for the club tasting this day and it's smokin'! Massive crème de cassis, blackberry, spice, mocha and leather go on and on! I'm saving mine for 2023 or 2033! April 9, 2023 - We had with our Easter dinner along several other special wines (Cardinale, Jarvis Reserve, etc,) after a long decant…and it held its own! Enjoy!!!

November 24, 2021 - Double decant. Red and blue fruits. Cassis and pencil lead. Nicely structured. Serious and focused. Very Long finish. I like it a lot and technically speaking it’s a very nice wine. It lacks character. The price point bothers me a lot. Why is this the most expensive bottle of wine from red mountain??? If you ask me Harrison hill is the DeLille wine to seek out.

January 31, 2021 - Ruby red color. Cassis, dark berries, plum, oak, cocoa, smoke. Full bodied, rich and elegant with medium tannins, balanced acid and long finish

December 20, 2020 - Classic Cabernet in a great spot. Left open for about 4 hours before drinking. Nice fruit with good structure and nicely polished tannins.

    Full Pull DeLille, 11/28/2018

(DeLille Cellars Grand Ciel Cabernet Sauvignon) Hello friends. Today we have only the second-ever DeLille offer in Full Pull’s history. I’m delighted that the folks at this special Washington winery are willing to allow our list members access to some of their lovely wines. DeLille was founded in Woodinville in 1992 by Charles Lil, Greg Lil, Jay Soloff, and Chris Upchurch. To set the scene, at that point there were exactly four wineries in Woodinville. Two are still around today (Ste Michelle and Columbia), and two are gone (French Creek and Facelli). So DeLille is the third-oldest winery still operating in Woodinville, and they essentially pioneered the boutique winery movement in the area. They were also among the first to make and promote Bordeaux blends, and among the first to consider items in the vineyard like row orientation (previously many of the vineyards were oriented to match the surrounding roads), spacing, and clonal selection. Pioneers to be sure, and 25 years in, the wines are better than ever. We have a terrific trio today:DeLille planted Grand Ciel in 2001, in partnership with Jim Holmes of Ciel du Cheval Vineyard. To the best of my knowledge, they don’t sell any of the fruit from the site; it is a DeLille monopole, and this vintage is 100% Grand Ciel, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon; a chance to experience a rare piece of Red Mountain terroir, at a TPU price twenty dollars lower than last year’s 2012 vintage. It sees 20 months in 100% new French oak, and then gets another two years in bottle before release. James Suckling: Copyrighted material withheld. Wine Advocate: Copyrighted material withheld.
