April 14, 2024 - Outstanding!
April 13, 2024 - Medium ruby red in color. Fragrant, attractive & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & plums with overtones of spice notes of cinnamon & cloves & earthy/dusty notes & sandalwood, some herbs, minerals & a hint of oak/vanilla in the background. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, strawberries & cranberries with some cola notes, spices, herbs, minerals & a hint of oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks well at present & even at 11 years of age, it could possibly develop slightly further with additional aging.
December 27, 2023 - Excellent, continuing to evolve nicely.
December 5, 2023 - Last bottle of this wine, previously tasted it 4 yrs ago.
Seems like the time in the bottle has significantly improved this lovely PN, with aromas of red and black fruits, stems, camphor, espresso, and mint.
The palate shows a beautiful, medium bodied wine with very nicely ripened red and black fruits, echoing flavors from the nose.
Finishes with fine tannins and generous acidity, this wine is in a great drinking window right now.
August 29, 2023 - R4. Movie Night. Had not heard previously of this wine but intrigued by its small production. Great nose - very Burgundian in style. Reminded me of E. Pepe. WBA - I could see stronger vintages having EVH potential.
August 21, 2022 - Great wine. Maybe approaching the down side of the bell curve but great none-the-less. Nice clear ruby color; nice nose of red and darkening fruit, leather, dried violets. Palette, medium bodied, medium+ acid, light tannins. Aging Red Fruit, Touch of Leather, violet and spice. Medium to long finish with some tannins remaining. I think it will hold up longer. Love to see what it does on another year.
January 15, 2022 - Dinner with R&Y and B&A: Consistent with a bottle three years ago. Plusher than the La Côte, as it opens it becomes plusher and there fruit becomes sweeter, not quite confected but getting that way and recognisably new world. Surprisingly padded middle given the 12.5abv. This is a bit more obvious and broad, not quite the poise and nuance developing in the La Côte. ****
July 25, 2021 - From a restaurant. Michael's on the hill in Stowe, VT. $150 @ bottle.
Nose. Smoke, creosote, raspberries, cherries, and spice. This wine delivers so much complexity and nuance.
Palate. Rich, elegant, and playful. Stewed fruit, big bright fresh fruit. Delicate tannins.
This wine is a serious wine. The finish lasts for minutes. The flavors lend itself to delicate and robust entrees. So delicious and good.
May 15, 2021 - In the right spot.
February 28, 2021 - Medium ruby in color; pretty nose of red and dark fruit, forest floor, leather, dried violets. On the palette, medium- body, medium+ acid, medium- tannin. Fruit and olive brine, spice, a bit disjointed in the mid-palette. But bright acid and lightly tannic in a long finish.
