Community Tasting Notes 5

April 8, 2017 - Five hour decant. Appearance of medium ruby-plum. On the nose there are sweet boysenberries, blackberries, and crushed blueberries. Sweet black currants and ripe blackberries with hints of tar and dark chocolate on the palate. Medium bodied with a medium-long finish.

March 10, 2017 - Wiscgrad is right, about the wine not about graduating from Wisconsin. This thing has little going for it except "it'll getcha drunk!". Very few notes of flavor, heavy on the alcohol, very little mouthfeel. Drinks like boozy water mixed with Welch's grape juice. That said, I did finish the bottle over 3 nights, so there's that.

February 26, 2017 - Just OK. Shows the weak vintage. All red fruit and quite light. Never guess this is mountain Napa cab.

May 14, 2016 - 90 minute decant; dark-medium purple in colour; sweet blackberries, black cherries, creamy blueberry paste, with some violets, gummy bears, and graphite trailing off on the nose. Blackberries, creme de cassis, and some more gravelly and muddy black fruits on the palate; nicely concentrated with some tannins hovering though can be drank now given enough air. Medium bodied with a long finish; a great mountain cab for a great price. Drink or hold.
