March 26, 2020 - Good, deep, dark ruby. No youth left, but certainly not even starting to look old yet.
Big, concentrated, integrated deep black plummy fruit, maybe a hint of prune, definitely a hint of chocolate. Slight hint of tar.
Lots of rich black fruit initially on the palate with just a hint of blackberry freshness. Very mouthfilling, with a rough velvety texture. Still a few sturdy tannins on the finish. Very firm and concentrated on the finish, with great length after.
A really lovely Hermitage that's definitely ready now. Jolly good value, considering it was under £20 back in 2010.

May 12, 2019 - Dark red with brownish rim. Modest nose of blacberries and plum. Hints of oak. Soft with sweet fruit on the palate. Somewhat extracted. Rather rustik than elegant. Medium lenght. Good Hermitage at its peak.

May 1, 2019 - A decent Hermitage, but not special. Plummy dark fruit, well balanced, just doesn't stand out in any way. On day two it had gone downhill. I don't see any upside from here, so drink now or maybe hold for a few years.

March 2, 2017 - Nose: Sweet red berries fruitiness; Blackberries, dark plums, hint of prunes. Some medicinal notes; camphor, mint. Also some dry "dust" (89p).
Taste: The arrival presents sweet blackberries, raspberries and field strawberries. On the mid palate mature tannins step out to counter the sweet and soft fruit. Towards the exit acidity joins the two to make a quite nicely balanced triangle. The aftertaste is more of the same and medium long (88-89p)
All in all a well made, mature, nicely structured Hermitage. Will continue to develop for several years (drink until 2020). Total score: 89 points.
04.03.2017 Update: On day 3 (portion kept cold in full, smaller bottle) the wine is just as fresh as on day 1, but more focused on both nose and taste. The same elements just that everything is juicier and more structured. I will stay with my previous 89 points though (but it went from a weak 89 to a very strong 89).

January 7, 2017 - Expressive aromas of dark red fruits, forest floor and some oak. Extracted, rich and impressive in the mouth. Lacks some elegance and class, though.
