January 14, 2023 - Deep red color. Aromas of black cherries, dark chocolate and wood spices. Full-bodied fruit in the mouth with excellent depth and length. Nicely integrated, complex and full on the palate. An excellent match for the cheese course. In the middle of its peak drinking period.
October 15, 2021 - Black cherry, blackberry, cassis, rich mouthfeel, good acidity, a touch of vanillan oak, and a medium length finish.
June 6, 2021 - Ripe plum, fresh black cherry, vanilla, dried floral herbs, and cedar. Deep ruby color, integrated, fine grained tanins. Perfectly balanced. Cherry hard candy on a long silky finish.
November 17, 2020 - PNP. Red with ruby rim with heavy moderately stained tearing. Bright fresh cassis, blackberry, and raspberry. Herbs de Provence, hint of potting soil, purple flowers, hint of suede, baking spice, and vanilla. Fruit driven but elegant with a nice complexity.
August 26, 2020 - Day 1: My second to last bottle of SOH from Chicago Wine Company purchase a few years ago and the best bottle period. Fragrant. Crushed violets, blueberries, Bing Cherries, plum, chocolate and pefume. Medium plus finish and balanced wine. Excellent. 94 points
August 22, 2018 - At the Seattle Vino Volo. We own some of this wine (another vintage), but I'm not sure I've had it yet. So interesting to try. More almost over the top fruit here, but now with a touch of sour and maybe a touch of black pepper right at the end. Both of those with the acid cut the flavor a bit which is nice. Alcohol still here and would like to see that mute down some. But I think it's tasty enough. If I had in my cellar I'd wait a bit.
June 29, 2017 - Washington Wine Tasting; 6/29/2017-7/1/2017 (Woodinville, Seattle, Jet City): Tasted at the Sleight of Hand tasting room in Seattle.
Blend with 89% cab sauv
