July 4, 2022 - excellent with roasted lamb

June 21, 2021 - Excellent! Rich but balanced, nice acidity plays off a touch of Malo creaminess. Tannins well integrated. Excellent length and mid palate energy. What’s not to like? Drink now or hold 5+ yrs I expect.

February 7, 2021 - Screwcap. Still dark with lighter rim. Needs decanting for both tannin and sediment. Lovely rich aromas of blackberry, some cracked pepper, hints of cured meat and iodine. Medium full-bodied with plentiful primary fruit and lots of complex nuances that corroborated the aromatics. Tannins were present but not obtrusive and certainly didn't curtail the finish which was long and juicy with the just a whisp of flint and a hint of salinity. Outstanding

November 11, 2020 - No formal note, this can lay down longer, I enjoyed it but it has room to develop more complexity.

September 21, 2020 - Appearance: deep ruby with purple ring
Nose: med+ intensity, dark plum, dark cherry, dry herbs, red cherry, rosemary, toast, vanilla, blueberry, balsamic. Developing.
Palate: dry, medium+ acidity, med+ but very fine tannins, high alcohol, med + body, med+ intensity. Plum, dark fruit, black tea, med+ finish.
Overall, very good wine. It’s still in it’s early stage, has cellaring potential.
Delicious wine and drinks well now. This bottle is a lot better than the 09 vintage I had before. Intriguing dried herbs and spices characters with subtle balsamic notes beyond the delicious black and blue fruits. The tannins are super fine but still provide the structure to hold the wine for the next 5-10 years.
