October 11, 2019 - Age paid off here. Color shows no brick or orange. Rich nose, with bramble, black cherry, white pepper, tea notes in a rich body with excellent structure. Could have aged longer.

February 27, 2018 - Still like this wine. Good Tempranillo character. The level of richness and freshness. The nice balance, texture and finish. It still has some heat in the finish but it was not as apparent as I recall. Not sure how this wine will age but based on the freshness still there and its development to date 2-3 more year seems reasonable.

August 22, 2017 - Nice color and district nose that speaks of Tempranillo. In the mouth developed, but there is some heat in the mouth and finish. Not overdone and nicely composed and developed.

April 20, 2016 - Decanted 1 hr. ahead. Medium ruby color. Nice nose of cranberry, cherry, white pepper, herbs. Fairly full-bodied on the palate, with some rustic traits in the form of brambly flavors and tart acidity that smoothed out somewhat with more air. Finishes well with moderate grip and medium tannins. One of the better tempranillos in CA right now, despite this winemaker's lack of experience with the grape. This wine could also use a few years of bottle age.
