February 18, 2019 - A terrific and balanced wine. Totally resolved and balanced acidity and tannins. Fruit emerges from the glass nearly immediately without encumbrance. The fruit starts with black cherry, some currant, then licorice and then vanilla. Touch of citrus held in check by the iron at the finish. This puppy is in its mid life fruit wise, and it's infancy for complex notes like tobacco, iron and vegetable. It is just a puppy and will continue to improve.

November 11, 2017 - Celebrating Good Health (R&D's): Single blind. Opens with a wonderful herbal green quality, with abundant dark fruit underneath. Firm and full on the palate, with cassis, dark berry, sweet vanilla and a long finish. Almost an unripe sauvignon-like capsicum quality here, but I think it's more that this has a lot of franc blended in. Mixed fruit and herb on the palate, balanced and long. Excellent. 94-95 pts. I initially thought this was the Au Paradis but changed my guess...should have stuck with my gut.

    My #2, Domino's #4
    Group #2, 28 pts

August 11, 2017 - Took to a Mystery Bottle wine tasting event. Was the clear favorite of the group. Very tight and tannic when first decanted but after 2 hours was opening to show gorgeous fruit, balance and complexity. continued opening and developing throughout the evening and after 5 hours was still developing. Will benefit from longer aging but with a long decant is approachable and enjoyable now.

February 25, 2017 - 4th Saturday group uptown tasting (R&C's): Double blind. Cherry, rose, lavender and red berry notes. Red fruit tones dominate the palate. Tannins are firm but not obstructive. Young and in need of some time. Napa cab sauv.

October 19, 2016 - Very dry and closed to my palate. It may need a few extra years of cellaring...
