September 9, 2018 - Clear, bright, and translucent dark red. A touch of orange, oxidized bricking. Perfectly ready. Nose is red berries, clay, amusement park water (like from a log ride, e.g. Splash Mountain), with a touch of fresh peeled orange. On the palate, more red berries, a floral element, tar, wet cave, and that log ride water phenomenon which others call guano, I guess. Something dank. Wonderful with cheese. OK with brisket. This did better with fat than with savory flavors. Overall, light to medium bodied with nice acid to bring freshness and lift that dank cave element. Filled out with an hour's decant. Very enjoyable. The California palates were not pleased. Their loss.

January 13, 2018 - Transparent garnet, some bricking. Good mineral nose, some funk at first, opened into a strong perfume of dried flowers, cranberries, and leather. Structure is past its peak, but still a worthwhile bottle. Great price for a mature Nebbiolo.

January 7, 2018 - Second bottle was far better and still showing very well. Perhaps a few more years before decline, contrary to the prior bottle. 12.5%

July 2, 2017 - Ready to drink, classic tar and violet on the nose. No real signs of aging on the color. Med acid, tannins have almost completely resolved and great PNP with dinner.

February 20, 2017 - Consumed in Breckenridge. Enjoyed this wine. Mellow character. All pieces integrated at this point. Complex, nuanced flavor profile. Decent length and presence on palate could be a bit better. Overall enjoyed. Definitely stars with solid food pairing.
