Community Tasting Notes 8

September 19, 2017 - Opened to extract 1/2 cup for a recipe, and drank the remainder with the dish (a scampi). Really enjoyable; soft and easy drinking with a nice nose and palate.

July 23, 2017 - Pretty much stand by my prior notes but this bottle seems less oxidized. Getting more ripe green apple on palate. Less bitterness. Definitely feels like there is significant age but more developed vs. gone bad so perhaps the last bottle was flawed and was stored incorrectly?

A mature white wine with good acidity, still fruit, medium body, the color is more dessert like, alcohol is medium and integrated, I guess, I'm curious what this tasted like a year earlier. There is still freshness.

Last bottle was prob flawed though not sure how this will stand up overnight. That being said, I prefer a younger Albariño.

Second day it was fine. Last bottle was flawed.

June 17, 2017 - Appearance -medium honey. It has a color you would associate with a dessert wine. Clear. Suspect the wset color would be deep gold.

Nose - getting some age on nose. Hard to pull out fruit. Definitely developing. Getting herbaceous notes over ripe fruit. More vegetal. Minerality. Wet stones. Some bread smells

Palate - dry, acidity is still there. Medium/medium +. Medium alcohol, medium body, flavor intensity is medium/medium +. For flavors I'm getting stone fruits, apricot, peach on finish, more tart than sweet. A bit of bitterness. Getting green apple. Minerality. Acidity is Definitely still there which I suspect is what saves it since the flavors aren't very captivating. I would give it medium + acidity. There is some green olive taste. The finish is medium. There is still some liveliness on the palate in terms of tingle. Medium alcohol

Past it's prime though still drinkable....well, vs. pouring down the drain.

I would hold on much longer. I read the label notes and this is not the wine I'm drinking.

January 9, 2017 - More complex and interesting Albariño that I normally drink. Goes very well with good. Good value.

    May 9, 2016 - Pale yellow colored
Peach bubble gum aromas and flavors
Dry, minerally, bright enough, but not overly tart, with a bit of a chalky finish that detracts just a bit from this otherwise being excellent
