February 7, 2021 - Fruit ranges from red to black. Dusty, earthy and well balanced.
May 3, 2020 - Pours a rich, opaque purple and smells of blueberries and blackberries, cocoa and flowers. Mouth-coating, leading with more blue fruit but turning to red berries through the finish, with notes of graphite, red meat and subtle pepper. The red fruit gives it a high-tone, bright quality - drinks a bit lighter than you'd expect, really nice.
December 28, 2019 - Just excellent, no reason to wait.
December 21, 2018 - Dark and rich without being pruney. So much character. This probably needs a few more years before it reaches its peak, and should hold until 2025.
January 31, 2018 - A wow wine. Deep dark and blueberry fruit, some smoke, and a volcanic stone undertone, the wine is rich, well balanced, smooth, with some tannin still needing to resolve. Needs a long decant now, or a few more years in bottle. Would do well with beef, and drinks well on its own because of the rich fruit and interesting flavors. A Horse Heaven Hills vineyard.
August 2, 2017 - PNP. Plum and black fruit aromatics. That same fruit and meaty notes on the palate. Some lift in the finish. Very enjoyable.
September 11, 2016 - Powerful nose of blueberry pie, rhubarb, and violet. Stronger rhubarb notes on the palate, along with the blue fruits. Seamless finish with a touch of spice. Needs 2-3 hour decant.
July 19, 2015 - Tasted double blind. Dark in color. Ripe dark fruits, pepper, jerky, lavender, herbs, minerals, and noticeable garrigue on the bouquet. Honed in on the garrigue and guessed Cotes de Roussillon because of the ripe, dark fruit. Was pleasantly surprised on the reveal. Medium plus acid, luxurious mouthfeel, stalwart finish.
