September 24, 2023 - Thinking that I had pulled the 2014 (of which I still have 4 bottles) instead of this, my last 2013. That was a propitious mistake. For when that bottle emptied and the occasion called for another bottle, the 2014 appeared this time and allowed a side by side comparison. Both wines were popped and poured. Both, as you would expect, both display the “Loring purple” in all of its exuberance. Both deliver dark fruits of black cherry and plum, Asian 5 spice, cloves/teaberry. But the ’13 is noticeably less lively, not nearly as “bright” as the ’14. The ’14 also shows added dimensions of cinnamon and graham cracker notes. Both are throwing chunky sediment. Both clock in at 14.3% alc. With charcuterie, cheeses and crusty bread for our first Fall Fire on the terrace. 09.22.23. Recommended.

April 6, 2023 - Drank the 2011, 2013 and 2014 next to each other. Unlike the 2011 which threw off a huge amount of sediment, this one and the 2013 had almost none. This one was showing a small sign of age in its color and scent and taste, but overall has held up actually pretty nicely. It was principally raspberries with some red cherries and some earth spice.

February 6, 2022 - No decant, rich with ripe fruit still

November 18, 2021 - An auction purchase at a great price. I really liked this PN, from Sonoma Coast but very reminiscent of Oregon PN as it's lighter in color, lots of cherry, tart raspberry, forest floor and cinnamon.
