March 10, 2019 - Rhone, lots of it (Chicago, IL): Not sure that Rostaing has ever really done it for me, and this bottle didn't either. Of note is a slight bit of a lactic quality on both the nose and the palate here. It's not offensive, but it does seem a little strange. Overall, this should be clearly identifiable, if blind, as Northern Rhone, but there's a little bit of muddiness on the palate that makes this wine less than it really could be.

February 5, 2019 - Cote Rotie 1973 - 2009: Shy nose with vanilla in the second plan. Seemed closed and not that interesting to me.

December 30, 2018 - Like what others have said below, this needs allot of air and a long decant before you get the olive, game, violet and dark drying cherry to show, lots of acidity on the plate initially yielding quite an austere feel but one it opens this seems to help leans quite a fresh texture

December 23, 2018 - Big. Pepper not overwhelming

October 4, 2018 - This was one of the "good" bottles of this, but the wine is just boring and simple. On a table of wines revolving around the theme of "aged Northern Rhone" this was near the bottom...and got its butt kicked by much cheaper wines. No character. Immediately pegged as "modern" by the group in this blind tasting.
Again this feels too New World for a Cote Rotie. No flaws per se - just nothing to remember.
