February 18, 2021 - 3hr decent. Delicate nose, fairly typically Margaux. Palate was quite light, tannins more of less resolved and enjoyment carried only by some length on the finish. Concur with overall score on here but you can be forgiven for expecting more from a top Chateau and an '05. I will be expecting more from my 15s and 19s which I bought EP.

January 1, 2021 - Russk. Andrea brought to CDC. Called it blind as a Margaux 2004. Close. Soft and beautiful.

December 28, 2020 - Is this getting towards the end of its peak?
Much thinner and less body than last bottle.
Drank against a 2005 Clerc Milon which was much deeper with much more fruit and nose.

December 26, 2020 - Oh my. I was not expecting this. This is the third time I have opened a bottle of ‘05 Brane-Contenac. The past two bottles have been closed, tight, and uninspiring. Last tried in 2017. But THIS is what I’m talking about! The wine is now letting loose of the fruit, balanced with just the right tannin structure to hold it all together. Decanted for 30 minutes. This is a beautiful Margaux expression drinking well now, with plenty of years to go.
