March 10, 2023 - Another bottle that showed well. Unapologetic new world Pinot Noir - good California fruit, some spice, good acidity, bold but distinctive. Really enjoyed this. In a good spot now and should hold for a few more years at least.

    February 16, 2023 - 14.2% abv.
Picked up a couple of these on release and finished the last one in 2019. Saw a couple more of these recently at auction for cheap, so i picked them up.
3+ years since my last try of this. This has held up very well over the years. Still plenty of fruit and body, fleshy mouthfeel, beautifully integrated at this point, though pretty similar to 2019 as I remember it. Santa Maria Valley Pinot "tomato leaf" character fully on display here, which I rather enjoy. No sign of falling off at this point and holding together nicely.

November 30, 2022 - PnP, consumed over 2 hours. Appearance: Clear, pale garnet - showing it's age a bit with some browning on the edges. Nose: Clean, medium intensity with developed aromas of dried cherry, cranberry, and cinnamon with hints of smoke and rose petals - subtle but interesting. Palate: Dry, medium+ acid - nice strong acidic backbone here, medium- tannin, medium+ intensity, 14.2% abv with developed flavors of ripe cranberry, cinnamon, and sweet tobacco with a medium+ finish.

This is sneaky good at the moment. Initially I was under the impression I had missed the peak and this was on the back-side of it's development. However, I'm thinking this may have been one of those rare wines with multiple peaks, and I did indeed miss the initial one where the fruit peaked. While the fruit here now does feel slightly dried or over-ripe the solid acid structure along with secondary notes - cinnamon- and primary notes - rose petal - add a wonderful spark of life. My last of 3 bottles (consumed 3 and 4 years ago), this was the best. Drink now or next 2 years.

July 16, 2022 - Very fragrant, stemmy nose with lots of red fruit, berries, and cherries. The fruit is a bit sweeter on the palate, despite the pretty high acidity and noticeable alcohol. It screams CA Pinot and while nothing really stands out good or bad, it’s not really my style of wine.

August 25, 2020 - Medium-light red. Tart cherries. Some cranberry and a bit of spice. Drinking nicely now.
