December 26, 2022 - 43% Chardonnay, 32% Pinot Noir, 21% Aligote, 4% Gamay
based on 2019 vintage.
Manual harvest in small crates. Pneumatic press. 24-hr settling.
Fermented in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic. Blended base wines
bottled with added sugar and yeast and sealed with crown caps.
Rest horizontally to age on lees for 12+ months at 12-15°C.
Bottled set on tips and riddled on gyropallets.
Desgorged: 2/18/2022
Dosage: 5.63 g/L

Domaine François Mikulski's Crément de Bourgogne is made by
Maison Louis Picamelot in Rully, a family estate founded in 1926.
A(ccuray)=2: Pale yellow/green tint. Fine mousse, mild perlage.
B(alance)=2: Vibrant acidity dominant.
C(omplexity)=2: Citrus, green apple, hint of nuts and herbs.
D(epth)=1: Tangy mouthfeel. Average length and finish.

It’s fairly oxidized (please understand, I’m a fan of skillfully oxidized champagnes) and flat without much to knit it together. I’ve never really had a Mikulski that resonated with me - I’ve only tried a few Meursaults and now this, and each time I’m way more excited about the potential than the wine actually reveals.
