March 26, 2023 - Have been drinking these for a couple of years and find the wine very stable drinking very well. Corks perfect. Big sediment. Tanin light but still good grip. One to drink.

December 26, 2022 - Cassis fruit, mint, cedar and cigar box notes were dusted with a light coating of talc. While the fruit was sweet the essence of the wine was savoury. There was a touch of bitterness on the finish, but is well balanced developing richness and length. Fully mature and drinking at its peak, this didn’t quite touch the heights of my last bottle, but nonetheless was very good. CHP 91 pts

October 8, 2022 - A fabulous concoction of leather, cedar, cassis and mint followed by super melting tannins which give way to a silky creamy texture with sweet oak characters. Yet it is fully savoury, fresh and beautifully proportioned. It’s a wine with a story to tell with a beginning, middle and ending, lingering long on the palate. A great wine from a great year. 94 pts

September 2, 2022 - Wonderful fully mature 05 Bordeaux. Tannins beautifully resolved and lovely Bordeaux hallmarks coming through on the palate. Opened this when the kids were driving me crazy and I decided I needed to remind myself that life is there to enjoy. This also explains the briefness of this tasting note!

August 18, 2022 - From 75cl, v. good cork. Decanted 1 hour. A crabby, closed 2005, almost exactly as noted here on 28.04.2021. Needs seriously fatty food to balance the furry tannins. Might be worth holding, but I‘m glad this was my last bottle. 87P

July 26, 2022 - Red brown rim, dark centre. Savoury, lingering, starting to dry on the finish. Very enjoyable. Drink up.

June 17, 2022 - This was poured along with '95 Pontet Canet and Leoville Barton and kept up with the big boys! Wonderful balance of savory earth notes and dark red fruit. Beautifully smooth and silky for a bdx.
