February 8, 2020 - Where the 1994 Muskateller TBA served alongside has held beautifully since release, this has developed from a precocious beauty into a dessert wine that can legitimately be compared with those of the most storied names in Germany.

medium pink-orange color, a rich nose presented effortlessly, apricots, pears, rose petals, on the palate succulent, honeyed, exceptional persistence and depth- it sinks into the palate, pears, white flowers, roses, all gently calling in full voice, this is so sweet that at moments it seems like it might become cloying- but it never does though it walks that line with millimeters to spare, fine long finish with substantial acids generously coated in honey and sweet fruits, the experience of this invokes images of a rose garden overloaded with a variety of large blossoms in all the most vibrant colors- stunningly beautiful and almost overwhelming, but always the sheer beauty of it brings one back to earth, this wine ranks among the greatest TBAs I have ever tasted, while it does not have quite the digital detail of many such wines- in all other respects it is as good as it gets, and this is worth the special effort to find. For my part I am kicking myself for drinking through the case I got at release for about $22 a bottle in the late 90s. I have always been a great fan of this wine, but I foolishly never imagined the great heights it would achieve in time.

February 4, 2017 - brilliant! beguiling nose; delicacy overlaying loads of flavor, vibrance that seemed to shimmer, rich red pear fruit, some spice. had it with cheese, pastry would also be terrific.

September 5, 2016 - #32-97, 7.5% abv. From half-litre. Moderate amber colour. The nose is alluring enough, with a fruit-salad of flavours, along with some clear botrytis spice and black tea tones. Without a doubt, the palate is very, very sweet, but there's plenty of acidity, and some more of that interesting black tea character. Despite the crazy acidity here, I can't help but feel this is slightly cloying all the same; the separate components don't seem to be as well-integrated as they should be. The fruit flavours don't seem to be as delineated on the palate either. And for all the concentration and sugar here, this wine just seems... simple. Perhaps I caught this at an awkward time?

May 7, 2013 - Yet another treasure from Salil. Light-medium orange-gold. The nose is gentle, sweet and deep - quiet and still like a glacial pool. Rich and oily with exotic fruits, especially lychee. Spicy with a salty bacon/meat aspect. Incredibly sweet on the palate and oily with lychee and melon, orange and tangerine. Creamy and sweet with a real fullness and grip on the palate. Exotic and deep. Nearly overwhelming. Nose - 5.5/6, Palate - 6/6, Finish - 5/6, Je Ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 18/20.
