June 30, 2023 - Decaying red fruit. Lovely balance and harmony. Not overly cerebral, yet just what you want at a decadent lunch!

February 2, 2023 - 1985 Bordeaux Horizontal - London (Noizé, London): Some Morello cherry and sweet meats on the nose here. A little green tobacco leaf both on the nose and the palate, a very savoury wine that develops a little cranberry jelly sweetness to the nose after 30 mins in the glass. A great backup for a corked Palmer generously opened.

October 23, 2021 - Top shoulder fill, cork soaked about 3/4 of the way up. Opened and slow oxed from 2pm and quick sample showed some red fruit, tobacco and a touch of bell pepper. Poured around 7pm and bell pepper has faded, still plenty of Graves cigar/tobacco on the nose and some red fruits. Ruby red with plenty of bricking on the edges, tannins completely resolved but still nice acidity tho not the most complex. Slightly more interesting on the nose and certainly still alive but probably on the way down ever so slightly. Still very enjoyable with a medium rare ribeye!

October 9, 2016 - The bottle was in very good condition; the filling level was top shoulder, only 3/4 of the long cork were soaked. The wine was medium ruby in colour, turning garnet at the edges, and threw some sediment. It had a lovely, spice-driven nose, with fading notes of dried cherry and dried black currant as well as spices, cinnamon, leather, tobacco, autumn leaves, earthy notes and balsamic notes. On the palate the wine showed cherry, dried black currant, blackberry, plum, spices, cinnamon, mushroom, autumn leaf-like earthy notes, balsamic notes and a nice, stony mineral component, with good acidity, well-integrated medium-plus tannin, a great, smooth mouthfeel and superb length. The medium-bodied, medium complex Bordeaux was balanced and very smooth, and drank very well. A lovely Pessac! Drink now.
