October 21, 2019 - This has a strong krug'y burnt'y character. Not totally sure how to describe it. But it drank much better with oysters than on its own, though it is certainly a fine drink even on its own.

September 12, 2019 - 1995 Vintage Champagne horizontal (Medlar (London)): From magnum served non-blind after the blind line-up a nice way to see the night out and thanks for the generosity Stephen! I had a slight preference for this out of standard bottle today (rated 96) as it had a bit more maturity on it seemingly due to the smaller format. The magnum is still fresher and doesn't at this point quite offer the depth it will most certainly gain. So 95 today and possibly 97 potential in 10 years+?

September 12, 2019 - 1995 Vintage Champagne horizontal (Medlar (London)): One of the WOTN and had many votes in blind as Krug. This one served from standard bottle was a bit more developed and to me on the night more enjoyable than the magnum version that was served later on. Again a Krug all-rounder performence with restrained richness.

August 16, 2019 - Full mature, with a deep amber color. Initially you are hit with big autolytic notes, but you are pretty quickly hit in the face with a massive concentration of flavor. Ginger seemed to be the primary note, but it is coupled with meyer lemon, orange citrus, honey notes, quince with mineral notes coming up on the very long finish. Constantly evolving over the course of a couple hours and adding power and intensity with each pour. The mousse has faded a bit but it is still very present in the mouth. If you wanted to super nit pick this wine, maaaaybe there could be sharper delineation of flavors, but this is drinking at a level where you aren't really getting qualitatively better, it is just a matter of the style you are looking for. This is was very much a wow wine and was very versatile with a very wide range of Japanese food. Not cheap, but totally worth it and proving the rewards of patient aging. 98++.

Poured into a Zalto universal and it would be a real shame to put this into a standard flute.

June 9, 2019 - 60-års dag og blinsmaking: Blind. Kompleks nese, noe kaffe, ganske dyp; brent brød, svært høy syre, litt gress, intens. Tippet Krug 1988.

May 18, 2019 - Deep amber, almost copper. Crisp, dried apricot, honey and a hint of ginger. Great acidity and effervesence. Definitely at its peak with at least another decade of excellent drinking. Focused, with great structure and a long, long finish. Thankfully I have a few bottles left.

May 15, 2019 - Acker Auction - May 2019 (Zuma in NYC): This wine is just oh so young. it is crisp and fresh and tasty but also a bit higher on the acid side and feels like it needs a bit of time to settle into itself. Might recommend giving it a bit of time open if serving now.

April 27, 2019 - From magnum. Quite tight initially. Needed an hour to start to open up. Classic Krug profile for me, although less oxidative than is often the case. I would hold in this format for another decade at least.
