November 5, 2018 - Quite tannic. Flavor profile similar to a Baudana 2012 we had a year ago. The Baudana was less tannic, and seemed to be more mature! Had this one with lasagna. Drank the rest the next day from a Riedel Burgundy glass. The wine had improved somewhat, and went well with leftover lasagna. I'm just getting acquainted with nebbiolos, so don't take my score to seriously. I am definitely going to try more!

March 22, 2014 - The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. The body is medium. The wine has satin-like texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

    February 17, 2014 - Aged barolo I bought for $30. Totally fine.

November 9, 2013 - Wonderful-One of the best wines, price point even included…..but it must be the 2000 or 2001. Ran out of a suppler source in the US, but contacted the vineyard and pleaded to get some wine from their library…they were so generous as to sell me a case of 2000 and 2001—thank you so much you made our week, year and decade.

March 24, 2013 - Decanted for 1 hour. Burnt orange on rim otherwise dark garnet. Dusty, rose, tar, licorice on nose. Explosive aromatics, classic Barolo nose. Tannic monster, lots of grip. Young, fresh classic black and red fruit flavors with anise once you penetrate the tannins. Would definitely benefit from an addition 2-3 (maybe more?) years of cellaring. Apparently, I committed infanticide in drinking this 13 year old behemoth. Saved half bottle to revisit tomorrow.
Day #2. Tannins have softened beautifully, not completely integrated but almost silky. Secondary flavors more apparent; mushroom, graphite and underbrush. Beautiful nose. Drinking nicely after a day of breathing. Changing rating from 89 to 91.
