October 31, 2014 - Dark nose of aniseed, black cherry, and raspberry, with well-integrated oak and alcohol. Palate is medium-bodied, with a smooth, silky mouthfeel, and an intense, mouth-filling power: a concentrated punch of fruit, alcohol, oak, and tannin. Flavours of red cherry, cranberry, blueberry, and plum, with a hint of sourness creeping in.

April 1, 2013 - In a great place. Plum and berries, smoke and spice. A bit of typical pyrenees mint thrown in, but it is only deep in the background. Showing no real signs of wear and tear, will continue to drink well for a number of years. Lovely stuff

April 4, 2012 - This is a wine that had a huge impression on me when I was just getting into the business in 2003. I have carried my last bottle of this around for almost 10 years now, and vowed I would only drink it on a special occasion with special people as my last bottle was such a memorable event. Flash forward: 2012, my post-birthday wine party and I think "now or never" because surely I have waited too long and it will be over the hill. What a joy to find it still drinking like a champ. Just the most beautiful, sunken, perfect integration of all elements you could ask for. Not a hint of age, not even a separation of alcohol. Unbelievably sexy and smooth. If you've got it, drink it now and wallow in it! This is no medicinal Aussie fruit bomb, this is downright French in style.

December 25, 2010 - Medium bodied and complex with blackberries, dark plums and roasted meats. Hard to believe this is Aussie Shiraz.

October 10, 2009 - Dark; this leans towards Rhône, spicey Shiraz underneath but a meaty, beefy, baked overtone spoils the overall impression. Is this in pristine condition? Possible heat damage?
