February 27, 2024 - Rich and fruity, heavy texture but with excellent lift. Nose a touch dry. More four square vs the 1963 Fonseca.

November 18, 2023 - FTLOP 18th Anniversary; 11/17/2023-11/19/2023 (Seattle, Washington): Dark purple in color. Cool, crushed dark fruit on the nose dominated by notes of blueberry, dark plum, and blackberry. The palate unfolds with subtle notes of sassafras and there are some slight bitter notes on the finish. Notably, there's a touch of dryness that adds a sophisticated edge to the overall profile.

June 12, 2023 - Last taste from the original bottle (sealed in an airtight bottle) - Expressive and fragrant, mandarin peel, dried flow petals, bright tawny character, spirity personality adds definition. This particular bottle is probably past its peak, but is still vibrant.

June 6, 2023 - Very tawny coloured, extremely light. Beautiful orange peel and clove notes echo on the spirit palate. The wine is spicy, with plenty of clove character. Gentle tannins, and plenty of spirits. Quite aged in character, but not drying.

June 4, 2023 - Incredibly light tawny, verging on a rose! Beautifully open, expressive and fragrant nose, of raisin, caramel, orange peel, and walnuts . In the mouth, quite spirit at first and very light, but with air the palate becomes more refined and ethereal. Not the powerhouse of a '63 that was expecting, but a wine that quietly convinces. Mashed to a roast pear, gorgonzola and walnut tart, this was an ideal match. I look forward to trying this a day or two after to see how the wine develops.

(Taylor (Fladgate) Porto Vintage) Bricking medium red color with pale meniscus; tobacco, constrained nose, that starts to show TCA after 2 hours in the glass; baked cherry, dried cherry palate with a touch of TCA; long finish (decanted for about 3 hours)

(Taylor Fladgate) It had an amazing creaminess to it along with great molasses, caramel, and earthy flavors. The creaminess was outrageous as I have never experienced that in in port before. Stunning finish. Had a little heat but I guess that is the deal when it comes to port. I didn't mind it.
