January 20, 2024 - I still find this a bit rough and astringent. Could use a few more years.

January 7, 2024 - This is in a fantastic spot right now. Really don't need much more than this. Look what some cellar age can do to a wine. Had this about 5 years back and back then it was still quite rough. Now it is all about the sandal wood, the lingering licorice/tar and some sous bois. Fruit is fading but can't imagine you have to rush but neither can I see this wine improve with more age.

December 16, 2023 - Tannins are still prominent. Lots of tar, more extracted than expected. Herbaceous. Pretty aromatics, some pomegranate, not yet floral but peeking out. Will benefit from a few more years but will show nicely with food.

Full Pull Dueling Nebbiolo, 9/15/2017(G.D. Vajra Albe Barolo) Hello friends. In the picturesque hills of Piedmont there is one grape that reigns supreme. This is not your average grape—it’s complicated and deceptive, well-loved and sought after. When made into wine, it goes by many names and is greatly influenced by the place it comes from. You may know it as Barolo, Barbaresco, Roero, Ghemme, Gattinara, etc. This grape is Nebbiolo, and though it’s not the most planted grape in the region, it’s universally considered the finest grape of Piedmont. Today, we have two of Nebbiolo’s many identities for you—a workhorse table-wine and a high-class, contemplative bottle, both made by the same producer in the Langhe. [Note: see the bottom of the offer for two bonus wines from Vajra; one dry white and one not-so-dry Moscato.] See key for # of bottles currently available.
