January 20, 2024 - I still find this a bit rough and astringent. Could use a few more years.

January 7, 2024 - This is in a fantastic spot right now. Really don't need much more than this. Look what some cellar age can do to a wine. Had this about 5 years back and back then it was still quite rough. Now it is all about the sandal wood, the lingering licorice/tar and some sous bois. Fruit is fading but can't imagine you have to rush but neither can I see this wine improve with more age.

December 16, 2023 - Tannins are still prominent. Lots of tar, more extracted than expected. Herbaceous. Pretty aromatics, some pomegranate, not yet floral but peeking out. Will benefit from a few more years but will show nicely with food.

    November 2, 2023 - After 5 hours in decanter:
Moderately aromatic of black cherry and pine Forrest floor. Medium bodied and taut, this is quite tannic with med-high acidity. Pine needles, rose water and red cherries on the palate. Doesn’t seem like it will improve. I’d opt for drinking now and over the next 2-4 years. 90

August 13, 2023 - Waking up to see the world! 1.5 h in decanter. Iron, rust, dried roses, tar. Mid lenght and body. Slight tartness. As an entry level Barolo this is of some quality. Lacked a bit of stuffing. First of two bottles in cellar. Will keep the other one for 2 - 3 years.

July 25, 2023 - Burgundy vs Barolo: Guessed as a young, slightly modern Barolo from 2016. Some VA on the nose gave a high-toned freshness to the wine. High acidity and structure, even though it was a lighter style of Barolo. Needs more time.

July 5, 2023 - Not convinced this was entirely sound; seemed a little far along for a wine of only ten years. Quite volatile, with the fruit showing modest browning qualities. Youthful tannins.

May 5, 2023 - Really beautiful sweet red cherries, dusty tannins, and ample acidity. Loved it even more after it had sat a couple days in the bottle after the first night. No rush to drink.
