Community Tasting Notes 15

November 12, 2023 - PnP. Dark purple to a faded rim in the glass. Heavy earthy note, with dark red fruit notes on the nose. This bottle was definitely showing its age as the medium bodied palate showed the earth outrunning the dark red fruits, along with a good amount of spice. The tannins were integrated, but the acidity also outran the fruit, and the 15.6% alcohol was just peaking through. Suggest drinking up.

July 23, 2023 - Decanted off the light fine sediment.
In the glass aromas stewed red fruits, strawberry fruit leather, brandied cherry and dehydrated raspberry come with notes of Rhum Agricole, rubbed herbs, leather billfold, French vanilla ice cream, toasted oak, baking spices, ground chocolate and exotic wood that all come with some serious abv.
Tannins on the palate are well integrated, while the ABV stands out quite a bit. Acidity is moderate plus while the fleshy mouthfeel plays out. Flavors follow the nose and show off notes of stewed and dried red fruits, vanilla, Rhum, leather, herbs and baking spices with hints of huckleberry and chocolate. The smooth finish lingers with a bit of heat.
    A full octane style.

December 28, 2020 - My first Herman Story wine. Less overwhelming than I had expected from other notes, but definitely high octane. Dark fruit throughout with peppery accents and nice soft tannins. The alcohol dominates the finish, but not unpleasantly.

April 25, 2020 - Decanted 1/2 hr. Dark fruit nose. Full bodied. Lots of flavor. Consistent tastes of darker fruits, cherry & spices.
