March 2, 2024 - Excellent wine. Lovely integration of fruit and oak at this stage. Long life ahead.
February 18, 2024 - Vin mûri à point. Cuir, cassonade, fruit noirs. C’est ample et bien digeste. Les tanins sont souples et salivants.
Très belle bouteille.
January 28, 2024 - We did an interesting experience drinking the Muga Gran Reserva and the Imperial Gran Reserva both in the 2010 vintage. Both paired well with a Chinese Fondue with beef and chicken.
There’s a certain weight with these wines. First, the fruit is appearing with a semi thick texture. The Imperial is a bit eavier with a nice wood background while the Muga is a bit more refined. Maybe not refined, but you can taste deaper in the length due to the absence of sweet wood the Imperial had.
Medium length with both wine.
We enjoyed tasting both of them back and forth during the dinner an I’m rating the both with a good 93. It’s really a personal preference that will define the best one for every single person. One who better like the pinot fruity length will better like the Muga while the Imperial will please the one who are enjoying Cabernet wood and wine that are sweeter.
It was an amazing experience
December 23, 2023 - Smoky cherry-like fruit that is rich and expressive, this Rioja is one of the more elegant wines of the year. Notes of cinnamon, tobacco and vanilla. Super smooth tannins after an hour decant…this wine has a long life ahead of it.
November 25, 2023 - Medium ruby.
Medium (+) intensity aromas of tart red cherry, dried strawberry, black cherry, black plum, leather, vanilla, cedar, cinnamon, milk chocolate, maraschino cherry, sage, licorice.
Pronounced palate.
Full body, high tannin, high acidity, long finish.
Still incredibly young, but so much potential.
November 12, 2023 - Very dry with ample tannins, needs much time
October 15, 2023 - Ready. Rich and lush and utterly delicious. Nose of tobacco, chatty, raisin. Deep red hue. Taste has red fruit, supple and smooth tannins, and a medium finish
August 13, 2023 - 2010 Prada Enea Gran Reserva Muga Rioja. Alc 14%. Deep purple
Intense fruit nose
Palate: Sweet and intense berry and dates. Moderate tannins. Minor oak notes.
Handled the spicy Indian Lamb dish well
August 4, 2023 - No contemporaneous notes. Decanted and consumed over several hours. Much better after two hours of air. This was excellent to outstanding, much larger framed, more oak, and more intensity than the 2010 LRA 904 consumed several weeks ago. More time in the bottle or decanter is recommended, although this bottle was greatly enjoyed. (93-96).
June 11, 2023 - Nose - complex and perfumed with strawberries, some vanilla.
Palate: medium acidity, fruit well balanced with the oak. Tannins dry the mouth but are unobtrusive. Bit of leather on the back end. Medium/long finish.
Delicious. Improving all the time in the glass too. Maybe still a bit young but I could drink pints of this.
