December 18, 2022 - Dark garnet-purple, totally opaque. Rich, powerful aromas just out of the bottle right from the cellar...blackberries, blueberries, roasted meat, bacon, leather, charred woods, black pepper, all beautifully blended. The flavors are surprisingly round, not at all heavy or thick, but still very intense and perfectly balanced, plenty of acid. Deep, dark, rich on the palate, carrying through to an incredibly long finish. Not quite as big as In the Hills but a wonderful combination of power and elegance, this is terrific now and will easily last another few years.

May 1, 2022 - Building such momentum. Northern Rhône, mixed olive tapenade, lump charcoal, molasses, black raspberry, smoked salt. Day 1 excellent, Day 2 sublime.

October 23, 2021 - Boy oh boy. This sucker had great savory flavors. Nose was real funky but that blew off after a few minutes. Strong aromatic nose of olive, smoke, leather. Palate was smooth, acidic, savory flavors of olive, bacon and more black fruit as the wine was open. Really enjoyed. The tannins were quite smooth, barely noticed with food. Drinking real good. Consider decanting for a hour as I feel that would help open things up right now.
