December 28, 2022 - Abundant cherry and black cherry fruit. Some secondary flavors I couldn't really identify: not unpleasant, I just couldn't really put my finger on them. Then finishes with mushrooms and earthiness. Very nice for sipping around the holidays.

10/28/2023 Still a bright ruby color even though it’s going on 10 years, not even a hint of brick on the edge. Plenty of bright cherry fruit and then, as everyone has noted, a nice earthy finish. I seemed to have enjoyed this more than the other tasters.

September 2, 2022 - Earthy, chewy, showing its 14.5% abv too much for my tastes. A heavy and rich CA Pinot and not really my style choice at all. Couldn’t finish it, will try the rest with a day of air to see if it makes a difference. It isn’t really over extracted but it tastes like it is.

Day 2. Better. There is still just too much alcohol in this to be a great PN but it is better balanced and the richness is now in check a bit. It no longer taste s like an overextracted mess.

April 9, 2019 - This medium-to-deep ruby, medium-bodied wine is as youthful as its appearance. Bright red and black cherry fruit is accented with cocoa and pumpkin pie spice. The flavors are quite intense and are supported by fresh acidity, medium sweet tannins, well-integrated oak and seamless alcohol (14.4%). I particularly love the fullness on the mid-palate and the impressively long finish. This wine will reach its tenth birthday with grace. Drink now-2024.

January 9, 2017 - I think the notes of CT member T_MODERNE are spot on. Particularly his comments from the terms "earthy ......". Spot on and I concur.

I am a huge fan of AP Vin and this wine is definitely different than their others but equally delicious.

September 12, 2016 - Pop (unscrewed - Stelvin screwcap) and poured and served slightly chilled. Enjoyed with food and then on its own. Followed for about three hours.
Deep purple color. Nose is earthy with some forest floor and some brown spice elements mixing in with the dark fruit.
Good richness to the wine with black cherries and brown spice and a hint of menthol. Some licorice, vanilla and touch of oak on the finish. Shows a little heat. Fair level of acidity.
This seems to be an earthier wine for Andrew than wines from other vineyards.
Closed under a Vacu-vin and refrigerated so will taste again.

Tasted the following evening. This has taken on a little weight and the ripe fruit element has come more to the foreground. Shows some improvement.
Enjoyable but not quite and outstanding wine.

December 11, 2015 - Pop (unscrew) and pour and served without food. Followed for about 1 hour.
Nice nose of brown spice and earthy notes.
Surprising in that this is not as big and fruit forward as many other AP Vin wines. Good striking acidity that stands above the flavors of black cherries and blackberries and some earthy mushroom. A little bit muted on the finish, however. A good wine.
