January 30, 2021 - blind: opaque, purple red, cherry, blackberry, fruit forward, a bit raisiny, good tannins, large wine, VA, sneaker box/rubber, 15%

May 27, 2018 - Deep violet hue. Aromatically striking, with dark fruits & black cherry aromas accompanied by complex notes of anise, Thai basil, menthol, black pepper and autumnal foliage. Moderate to moderate-plus body...substantial, yet elegant. More black cherries on the palate, more herbaceous complexities as well. Racy acidity adds a perception of minerals on the lingering close, which is furthered by structured tannins. So fresh and transparent, this is a beautiful wine that's wonderful now but will age far longer than most -- serve this to anyone who doubts the "seriousness" of Zinfandel.

December 17, 2017 - Really late lunch – blind esoteric and not so esoteric wines at Q by Peter Chang (Q by Peter Chang - Bethesda, Maryland): Expressive, totally different, new world. Ripe raspberry fruit, cherry pie, a hint of oak and earth. Very grenache and new world, my guess is top priorat. I just didn't imagine anyone had Zinfandel in their cellar. Very modern and opulent but not hot.

March 25, 2017 - - Ruby color with fast forming legs and aromas of cherry, black pepper and smokey. It's balanced and has flavours of black pepper with a full body. Coarse texture with a long finish - Decanted one hour. Really young, tight wine. Smoked BBQ nose. Spicy finish, tons of tannins. GREAT Zin.

October 5, 2016 - 15% abv. Dark ruby with expressive aromatics. On the palate, cherry, pomegranate, blueberry and Zin spice and bramble. Very deep, rich and long. While enjoyable now, I'd expect this to continue to improve for several more years. This rare Sonoma Coast historic vineyard is one of my favorites!
