  • Badfish Likes this wine:

September 12, 2019 - Showing just a touch of brett upon opening the bottle that mostly fades with decanting. Beautiful fresh ripe aromas of black cherry, wild berry, lavender, smoked meat, and oiled leather. The palate is edgy with earthy red fruit, crunchy acidity, and firm tannins. The complexity is building in this wine but it still has structure to age.

June 26, 2019 - Spicy, pepper. A decent drink, in good shape. Fine if not noteworthy.

March 23, 2018 - This wine is holding up well. Dark red color with a fairly fresh bouquet. Plenty of ripe red and dark fruits, some vanilla and menthol, and good remaining structure. Should continue to hold up for a couple of more years. A good value.

September 2, 2017 - Another Saturday at Chevalier...Mostly Blind (Chevalier Fine Wines - Chicago IL): Tasted double blind alongside the Vieilles Vignes from the same vintage. Fresh and bright black cherry and plu, this seemed at least 5 years younger. But also simpler.
