June 18, 2019 - It's okay. PnP. Seeing ratings well into the 90's makes me think there must be wide bottle variation but this is a just okay. There was a funkiness that blew off fairly quickly, possibly a reductive process? 15% will punch you in the face. High alcohol and over use of wood (or highly tannic from another source) puts this out of balance for me.

May 23, 2018 - Tasted blind: Very deeply colored; nose a bit strange to me as well as the full-throttle but blunt palate of diffuse dark fruit flavors; thought I had it when I guessed petite syrah. BUZZER!!! wrong. Not enjoying it much, I went with "a GSM blend from a hot area of Australia". BUZZER!!! Wrong again. Tore off the paper bag and here was this big, heavy bottle. I concur with Willie's note. On its own, it's an 84 pointer. With a medium rare grilled angus beef patty, it showed its purpose and would have scored higher.
