  December 7, 2023 - I decided not to decant this wine as it was 10 years old. That turned out to be a mistake as this needed lots of air. This wine was ruby in color with a moderate nose of red and blue fruit, coffee and tar. On the palate blueberry, raspberry, cassis, espresso, and cedar.
  
  I reorganized my cellar in November after receiving all my 2021 allocations. I found quite a few bottles that I already should have drank and this was one of them. At 10 years old this wine was still rough around the edges and it took till day 2 before it started behaving itself. This was significantly better on day 2 when all the puzzle pieces came together.
  
  I bought this 6 years ago and at the time this was a pretty popular wine on CellarT racker in the $60 range with a lot of people giving it good reviews. I drank a couple of bottles 4 years ago and they were decent but never caught my fancy. Unfortunately, I read the CT reviews of this wine after I drank it and missed Yackman's recommendation that this is better with food. I agree with that and will drink my last bottle with a steak. If you have this wine I would drink up with a good decant.

  December 14, 2022 - Decent QPR - not majorly flawed but fairly duo dimensional without much depth. Misses the brightness of a bordeaux but doesn’t have the weight or complexity of a Napa cab. Just meh.

  November 11, 2021 - Really drinking nicely here. It is immediately accessible, but improves with 30 minutes of airtime to just open up more and let some of the more saturated oak notes blow off
