February 23, 2021 - Medium-dark red color with limited transparency. Aromas of plum, raspberry, smoke, and a hint of bacon. Palate is full of smoky red fruit with vanilla notes on a medium finish. All of the structure is fully integrated. Some herbal notes come in with time in the glass and this shows nice complexity from bottle age. Overall, a great ATP wine in my book and worth the wait. Drink or hold.

June 22, 2019 - This is my Red Wine of the Year (to date). Purchased directly from the winery and stored perfectly since its release, this wine was smooth, silky, with gobs and gobs of savory and dark fruit flavors that seemed to go on for minutes. OUTSTANDING.

June 30, 2018 - At tasting. Brief note. Nose and palate are very well resolved and at peak right now showing dry, dusty, smokey herbs, peppery red fruits, and round soil tones. This is oddly feminine with plenty of finesse even though there is a high abv and a fair amount of dry extract. Finish is long, palate staining, and complex with the peppery fruits weaving in and out of the smokey herbs. Very nice.

March 12, 2017 - pretty dried out and too new world for my liking.

October 2, 2015 - Surprisingly this vintage held its own for 10.5 years since bottling in March 2005. Opened a bit tight and with a shorter finish. Over the span of 3 hours continued to develop dark fruits, a hint of spice and more velvety on the palate with a lasting finish. Paired well with Gruyere and cedar planked salmon. By the time we were done, we were only wishing it was a magnum so we could have continued to taste its development.
