January 21, 2024 - The first bottle of this Champagne for a while ... in a great spot right now. I'm a big fan of this cuvée with a bit of age. Pinot 50%, Chardonnay 50%. Rusty red colour, small bubbles. A bouquet of preserved and fresh strawberries, raspberries and cherries, red currant jam, lemon citrus and wild flowers. On palate, rich and full, yet with citric precision. Mineral and red berried, very appealing. Savoury, soil-driven and toasty. Drink by say 2034.

January 5, 2024 - Champagne and claret (John's place, Croton): Pretty wine; lots of bright red fruit and faint herbal/yeasty/toasty notes over a chalky mineral base with a bright acidic spine. Very refreshing and easy to drink.

December 31, 2023 - Golden Copper color. Yeasty red fruit nose. Soft fine mousse and ongoing gentle stream of bubbles.
Smooth red fruit flavor on palate with some leesy flavors and a pronounced nutty finish. Very smooth and elegant

November 18, 2022 - Delicious. Wonderful expressive fruit, very smooth overall wine with an exquisite mousse and not a trace of sharpness or tannin (as some rosé wines can get from the red addition).

October 9, 2021 - Wonderful notes by tasters before me; no quibbling here. My score is largely based on its compatibility with a broad array of. plates, because it is so clean, and the vibrant acidity powers it’s match with five courses I had tonight at Charleston in Baltimore: pan seared rockfish, lemon garlic aioli, fried green tomatoes, paillard and empanada of veal sweetbreads, lobster agnolotti, and superbly rare squab are all enhanced by the.crisp cleansing texture of this beautiful rose. On its own maybe a point or two lower, as it lacks intensity, and is indeed too expensive. But I can’t imagine a better single bottle choice with this fine repast!!

October 6, 2021 - Copper pink color, typical Billecart Salmon refined bubbles. Took time to open up at least an hour before finding its stride. Nose of strawberry, chalk, brioche, blood orange and pain d'épice. Great lift on the palate, less chalk as it opened up, finishes fat and buttery yet light and vivacious. Really delicious at this stage.

January 20, 2021 - This was an amazing champagne. The nose had all the right qualities. Interesting aromas of brioche without heavy yeast notes, fruit without being cloying. After 11 years in the lees, much is possible. The palate was smooth, presenting mysterious fruit: orange that was not orange, lime that was not lime, plus bread and herbal notes, with an underlying minerality. Unfortunately, too dear for everyday drinking.
