January 7, 2020 - Briefly decanted and vigorously swirled. Another stunning Petite Sirah from Switchback Ridge and the Peterson family. Elegant, rich and full bodied with a wonderful finish of gripping tanning. Fasten your seat belts for a hell-of-a ride. 94+

December 26, 2018 - Tonight's bottle is pretty similar to the one I posted on in February 2017. This is grounded in red fruit and is on the crunchy side of things. Same charcoal imprint too, with a grainy tannin and some earthy black fruit. Yes, a whiff of booze in the nose but just seems overall to me a more structured, reigned in vintage of SR petite, which works for me. FWIW, opened this about 2 hours ago.

July 27, 2017 - This is by far the best Petite Sirah I have in my cellar. Had with Ribeye Tacos. Outstanding!

March 17, 2017 - Drank as a final wine to end the meal. Poured straight to decanter, not aerated. This showed extremely dark, intensely packed and some booze. By the time I drank this, I was already at a point of stopping and knowing the ABV, I had very little of it.

March 16, 2017 - Book Club (Seiber Cellars): Blind - guessed Switchback PS (just had this wine 2 months ago)

Typical PS glass stainer. Ripe blue fruit and red berries. Gritty aggressive tannins, tar, and chalk. Great wine but way too young for the general population. We are not afraid!
