Community Tasting Notes 4

May 7, 2023 - This wine is incredibly expressive on the nose with a dense core of dark berries and plum, rounded out with chocolate, vanilla, dark roast coffee.

This all carries to the palate with the addition of some black tea notes and the oak quite present.

Lots of tannin and decent acid. Long finish with tart blackberry.

Decanted two hours before dinner…should have done three or four. This wine has good upside potential and at least another ten years of good life.

January 15, 2021 - Drone coravin. It was still young, but the outline of the story was there. The nose was full of coffee, smoke, chocolate, graphite, dark fruits, and just right amount of vanilla. On the palate, I loved the texture so much. The chewy tannin made a great lasting dressed with dark fruits, black tea, and licorice. The touch of sweetness was really helpful to increase the depth of it. I will revisit it at least 5 more years.

November 14, 2020 - 1st day the nose is very pleasant but a bit of grainy tannins once it hits the palate. Decanted it till the next day (accidently since I forgot to close the lid) and the wine was very good. Silky and smooth and nice notes of dark fruits. The finish is long and delicious. I wish I had saved the entire bottle for the 2nd day. Probably hold for another 5-7 years or decant for a long time. This can go for at least another 25 years

December 24, 2017 - Deep dark purple. Coravin. Needs more time to better integrate. 93 now but will revisit in another two years. Dark fruit, dry throughout needs more time to see if the tannins will recede giving way to better integration. Will wait on the rest of the bottle.
