November 19, 2016 - I picked up this 'old' bottle as part of an auction lot. Surprisingly, while the wine is past its peak it's still delicious. The fruit has faded, but the minerality shines through and complements the remaining pear and citrus nicely. The color remains a pale straw, and there are no telltale notes of caramel or butterscotch. This winery really builds their whites to last.

August 25, 2003 - 14.7% alcohol. 1,440 Bottles produced. Purchased locally from Sigels in Addison for $32.99. Opened and served immediately in Spiegelau Authenthis WeissWein glasses. Clear yellow color in the glass. Slightly perfumed nose of almonds and honeysuckle with some apples and citrus. Bright acidity with tart fruit flavors ending with some toast and little butter. Seems oddly out of balance. 86 points. Drink now.
