April 21, 2022 - Decanted for 1.5 hours, lovely structure, well balanced, dry on the pallate. Fruit forward. Full bodied. Feel can age further.

February 13, 2017 - Richly fruited nose with good concentration - whiff of chocolate oak and spice; good core of fruit on the palate, some firm tannins at this age, quite a presence of oak.

September 11, 2016 - Dark ruby turning crimson at the rim with a reflective edge. This shows ripe, warm aromas of toffee-coated, caramelized dark berries, cola, and eucalyptus. The palate displays a full body with a ripe, modern-styled wine with voluptuous, velvety texture running on high-octane. Flavors of dark currants coated with dark chocolate, cherry cola, liqueur, espresso and expressive earthiness. This is very, very attractive - a great marriage of Old World wine done in a modern style. Finishes long and round with mineral-filled but refined tannins. Drink now until 2025. 93+

May 5, 2016 - Rosso rubino, consistente. Naso di legno e di frutta rossa matura, bella corposità, finezza e persistenza.

March 30, 2016 - Emirates lounge. Dark garnet almost to the rim. Plenty of wood spices and oak, big round fruit, sweet and a bit overripe, at the same time a fair bit of acidity and slightly oxidative. Needs probably time to come together a bit but certainly not my kind of Rioja. More like a digestif. 89+
