January 13, 2023 - Bourgogne 2002 horisontal Grand and 1. cru winetasting dinner (20 btls) (Nordsjaelland): Not as good as 2006 which I rated 93+
Gold. color. on the nose/palate: More dried fruit. still apricot, lemon and toast. Less intensity and more edgy than 2006. Like 2006 also a little bitterness on the palate. Long finish

July 23, 2022 - Full bodied, tart, and nutty. A stately bastard. I haven't enough experience with these to compare.

January 8, 2021 - What a wine - a very elegant wine with a high level of fines - on the nose you mostly get butter, lemon and hint of unripped hazelnuts. On the palette you really get an explosion that shows the high quality of this wine. You get apricot, lemon, grapefruit, honey and high level of buttery creaminess (something that was not visible in the beginning - but suddenly became very dominating, after the wine has been opened for a while). The wine has a relative high acidity level - we would say close to medium +,- but this does not affect the overall balance of the wine that is great. The wine has a high level of complexity with a long and very pronounced aftertaste. We really like the wine and gives well deserved solid 95.

July 8, 2016 - Burgapalooza (Alpharetta, GA): Dark golden; very rich, nutty, high toned, lemon curd, high almost disjointed acid, vanilla, great fat, apricots, honey, pineapple, almost botrytis; awkward at first and needed a lot of air to come around and may have continued to get better; mine.

October 17, 2014 - White Truffle Lunch (Otto e Mezzo, Alexandra House, Central, Hong Kong): Decanted briefly. Light yellow-green gold colour. Nose is slightly new rubber cycle tyres on entry and not giving much else.....except that it has a resonance and reverberance inside the head just from the nose, which is rare and remarkable and a sign of better things to come when it ages. Palate is slightly oily in an attractive way followed by distinct spice and a fugue on a dozen different types of lemon, and loads more spice....then a massive expansion and explosion in the head with an endless finish....incredibly elegnt and finessed. Beautifully made - linear precision. More petrol elements come out as it warms up in the glass. Stunning. I could drink this all day. It was as good after 3 hours in the glass as it was at the beginning. Amazingly open for a 2005. Thanks, Guy!
