    November 19, 2016 - Big and bold with dark cherry, plum and currant notes. Plenty of tannin to go around with a slate, chalky finish. Great value.

    August 29, 2016 - PnVnD 1/2 of the bottle let air for 1hr. Dark purple crimson saturated with a crimson to clear rim. Fir rosemary Thyme tons of fennel plum fig and blackberry on the palate. Medium weight with slight cherry skin tannins. Plum fig blackberry touch of spice on the palate. A bit weak in the mid-palate and a short sharp finish. Will see if it improves tomorrow.

    Day 2. Much better. More integrated and complex with less overt awkward fruit. Richer with a nice lavender note. +2pts.

    March 13, 2016 - It's gets redundant to say so, perhaps, but this is another astonishingly good value from Portugal ($16 in Ontario), a Port-varietal blend of Tinta Barroca (40%), Touriga Franca (30%), Touriga Nacional (20%), and Tinta Roriz (10%) from the Symington family of Port fame. A whiff of acetic acid upon opening, the volatility quickly dissipating, is followed by a luscious, sexy nose of ripe dark berries, sugared plums, new leather, rocky minerality, and bitter herbs, with added berry tartness on the palate cutting through the richness. The nose is actually quite impressive, with the various savoury elements adding complexity, but the flavours don't match the aromas and thin out into a flat, somewhat bitter stream, and while overall it's nicely structured, pillowy but with muscular fortitude, the texture does turn rough and chalky. But for this price and with that nose? Impressive.

    February 12, 2016 - Tasted on its own, over two days. Notes of not-quite-ripe blackberry (a bit tart), with a dry herbal feeling, along with a nice touch of spice.

    September 16, 2015 - Le vin s'est dévoilé après 30 min dans le verre. Flaveurs de bleuêts, de chêne et de réglisse. Bien jeune avec des tanins assez fermes mais civilisés. Très bon rapport Q/P!

    August 28, 2015 - Le vin est très foncé et violacé. Un peu rude à l'ouverture, mais il se place après 30 min d'aération. Un vin sec et corsé mais doté d'un bel équilibre. Les fruits noirs ressortent avec un jolie boisé. Bon rapport Q/P!!
