April 4, 2017 - I don't know what's up with these reviews but this is a great Pinot from a great vineyard made by one of the few talented Wineries in Monterey County. Deep cherry/strawberry rhubarb, orange Julius, pomegranate on the finish. A deeply flavored Pinot with layers.
November 4, 2016 - Bernardus Tasting - 2014 Chardonnays & 2013 Pinots (Carmel Valley): Unfortunately all of the four 2013 Pinots tasted in this lineup were forgettable for the most part and hovered in the 87 point range at best. I could not honestly tell you which wine was which. The Sierra Mar, Soberanes, Rosella's, and Garys' were pretty much all the same Pinot wrapped into one lackluster flavor robe of medium-bodied black cherry, strawberry, and some cedar. Thin mid-palate and a lost finish. QPR is all bad. There are <$20 Pinots out there that would hold more interest.
October 23, 2016 - with salmon. this is good but not special. very cali pinot with round fruit and little rocky austerity that i like in red burgundies and oregon pinots. not very good QPR
August 22, 2016 - Enjoyed over 2 days. Nose is soft raspberry jam (muted, not bright) and rose and floral notes, with a hint of spice (dare I say - white pepper)... Palate is same muted raspberry/strawberry jam, smoky, and a some earthy tones. A little tart at the finish, with some acidity. Medium finish.
I really like the wine... and at $19 it has a great QPR!
June 26, 2016 - w pheasant from BBQ with asian spices. This has good fruit and good body but got a little hot when it was open for a few hours. Needs food. Good Cali Pinot and taste like coming from hot climate.
