March 8, 2024 - Aging marvelously. Marmalade, honeycomb and quince on the nose. Unctuous, lingering and balanced on the palate. Persistent finish. Excellent job.

February 23, 2024 - Fabulous All Sauternes Tasting Dinner: Part Trois (Brad's Place, St. Paul, MN): Light medium gold color. Drank a glass over 90 minutes. Oranges, melon, apricot, sweeter and a bit thinner than the '05 Rieussec next to it; tart citrus with very good length.

December 24, 2023 - Popped and poured...some lemon and pineapple, but otherwise liquid sugar and way too sweet for my liking.

October 15, 2023 - Sweet, but very high acidity leads to it being lifted and fresh. Fresher than the 09. More intense palate, but the nose is a bit more shy. More cohesive.

September 18, 2023 - Good, not special. I wish it had just a little more acid, though I realize the house style is a bit on the flatter end.of the Sauternes spectrum. To my palate Guiraud has some Muscat like characteristics. Not a bad thing on its face, but give me Climens for instance seven days a week for Sauternes, particularly in 2005.

September 18, 2023 - Perfect conclusion to a traditional Rosh Hashanah dinner, served with the obligatory Marian Burros plum torte. Tropical fruit, caramel, honey, offset by the bright acidity balancing its intense sweetness. Long finish. (This was an open bottle that had featured at the Monday night wine tasting as the wine of the night.) Agree that this wine will last for many years but I'm not a fan of hyperaged maderized sauternes, and I think this is now at its peak.

September 3, 2023 - Expressive notes of fennel and honeycomb in the nose. Palate is dense and layered, with crisp acidity and lots of lemon, blood orange, verbena, and aromatic wood on the long ending. Really excellent already, the balance between acidity and sweetness is really nice and this is an elegant Souternes.
