    April 5, 2020 - Library evaluation:
Bright red color. No presence of brick.
Red fruit, tobacco, and leather with hints spice aromas.
Milk chocolate, red fruit, and earth flavors.
Med acid and body lead to med/long finish with just enough tannin
Holding up well and should for at least another 3 years

December 3, 2017 - There are today few more visible advocates for Cab Franc that Lori and Micahel Budd of Dracaena Wines. They've grown through amateur winemaking to producing several vintages of Paso Robles, California Cab Franc over the last several years, and have through social media tirelessly promoted not just their own grape, but the broader global wine community in general. Their 2013 vintage opens a bit astringently in the nose, but follows on with notes of sandalwood, cocoa powder, cardamom, and a little nuttiness. It's much smoother than expected on the palate, whose lack of signature Cab Franc peppery notes is offset with touches of cigar smoke -- or, rather, the woody sensation in your mouth of burning wood in a fireplace or camp fire -- milk chocolate, and after about three hours to air in the glass, white tea and vanilla, like the custard from a crème brûlée. The 2013 vintage is ready to drink now, but the 2015 vintage is still on sale. Order some and have it shipped direct. We're confident you'll have no regrets.

November 18, 2016 - PnP, and had with Pizza outside by our fire pit. This wine has gotten even better than the last bottle. Red fruit, that fleshed out with some air time to a nice medium weight, definitely some spices, and a long smooth finish. Good acidity, wine is drinking well right now. Bottle went down easy, and Mrs. Coupe raved about it and told me how much she liked it.

June 17, 2016 - PnP, dark red fruit with some peppery spice (black pepper). Wine had a solid backbone which means it has a long and happy life ahead. Wine had great texture to it. Did not get green pepper that I do not like in a CF. Excellent food wine was tasty now, and a good bet to get even better.

April 16, 2016 - All 4 at the table agreed this is a really nice wine. Medium to dark Crimson color, this Cab Franc had a rich softness in the mouth that brought out the dark red and black fruit along with spice and pepper. Tannins were well balanced and the finish added an herbaceous layer. If you are not familiar with Cab Franc and would like to try it, this is a great example to start with.
