Community Tasting Notes 11

January 31, 2019 - Bottle is quite funky, showing classic reduced dimethyl sulfide notes. Very ripe fruit, soft tannins. Notes of kirsch, ripe cherry, prune, fig, stewed red and black fruits. Herbal, black olive, roast meat notes. Finish is a bit bitter. Would love for more acid and stiffer tannins. Good bottle in the typical Rocks Syrah style but for less $ than many other icon rocks wines.

December 16, 2018 - Has really aged nicely at this point; am glad we didn't wait longer to drink. Had a green olive nose and tightness on the first sips, then after a few hours, seemed like it showed less prominent typical WW big Syrah characteristics, and more brandied red fruit and oak.

March 19, 2018 - Very similar to my previous note. A fruit bomb. Which is tasty but not really satisfying.

February 18, 2018 - I have been a big fan of this producers wines in the past, but something has changed in the recent years. This wine was underwelming and had overly heavy cedar notes with grape soda. I met the winemaker 2010 and his wines back then were awesome, I'm beginning to wonder...

February 16, 2018 - Deep purple inky color with good legs. Dark cherries on the nose. Dark fruits, smoked meat and light spice, medium tannins and smooth finish.
    Decanted 1 hour.
Opened up further on day 2.
    Enjoyable WA Syrah.
